Towards Austin (PA, WV, VA, TN, AS, TX; 6/10-6/14) Texas to Telluride (TX, NM, CO; 6/15-6/19) Dinosaurs & Petroglyphs (CO, UT; 6/20-6/23) Moab Canyons (UT, AZ; 6/24-6/27) Route 66 East (AZ, NM, TX, OK, KY, MO, IL, IN, OH, PA; 6/28-7/3) The trip started rather innocuously: heading for the Blues Highway down the Mississippi Delta, we came up short in Nashville, as a hurricane blocked our path (in June!). We took the opportunity to go wine tasting and catch an evening at The Grand Ole Opry, then stole out the next day. We toured a bit in Memphis, got a sandwich on Beale Street, toured the Gibson Guitar factory, and took in the iconic Graceland. Hows about some ice cream treats? (Nashville, TN - Jun 11) Outside the Graceland mansion (Memphis, TN - Jun 12) Our schedule dashed, we decided to take a few days crossing Arkansas, rather than rush down the delta. It turned out great - we spent a day hiking in a Village Creek State Park, visited the Clinton Library in Little Rock, and even healed a little with a bath in Hot Springs National Park. We eventually lumbered into Austin to stay with Scott's high school friend Terri, more or less back on schedule.
