The Big Move, Part 3
With the relative success of Scott's second round of medical school applications, and with the ridiculous success of Lori's social work school applications, the could made the gigantic move into the city of Philadelphia. Though the move was a little tumultuous, and the destination a little uncertain, it turned out that the couple found a great location to live in East Falls, and the start of the year looked promising.

The first year - "MS1"
I'm not really sure if we saw each other more than once or twice in those first few months. Between Lori's new job at The Franklin Institute and her work towards a Masters in Social Work at Bryn Mawr, she was pretty much occupied. And despite having a leg up after last year's IMS program, Scott still found himself spending a significant amount of time in the anatomy labs.

By Christmas time, things were getting in order. We were starting to feel at home in the new apartment (despite not being allowed to paint), and we were going to the fertility institute and getting help with starting our family. Once Spring Break rolled around, we were ready for a little getaway. And wouldn't you know it, while Scott was skiing at Killington one day, Lori stayed at the hotel and took a pregnancy test. She must've studied pretty hard, because the result was positive!

A sign of things to come (May, 2006)

After finding out our big news, the spring went quickly: I moved to a clinical rotation, and Lori started setting up the bedroom. The summer started off with the wedding of Ken and Jenna, and then Scott did an internship at Covenant House. The summer wrapped up - how else? - with another road trip, this time to Nova Scotia. By the time the next school year would start, the baby's room was near ready, and even some of the furniture had started to arrive...

Year two has started out as expected, and then not at all as expected. Lori still took classes IN ADDITION to continuing to work at the Franklin Institute (and being pregnant!), and Scott decided it was a good time to get more involved with AMSA and organize the 2006 Philadelphia Residency Fair. Luckily, Hannah arrived only 5 weeks early (!), so we had no time to get too nervous!

The next few months were kind of a blur - getting through school and work became a sidetrack to taking care of Hannah (suppose THAT cliche is right...). By springtime, we had hit stride, though. Scott was again off to conferences and ice climbing, and Lori was keeping up her (newest) scrapbook, and the whole family officially joined Falls Presbyterian Church. We even found a chance to head up to Ludlow, VT, for a spring break trip (thanks to Dr. Wagner), and, once classes and the Step 1 boards had passed, a week in the Berkshires, MA. So far, so good: baby, dog, mom, and dad all doing okay...
